The 5k Race

The certified 5k course is USATF measured and approved. An oblong loop, it starts on Bryn Mawr Road between the Roselle Park District Clauss Center and Lake Park High School West Campus. It is reasonable flat and a fast course. The course has a wide start and a long straight starting line along Bryn Mawr road. It continues through the Waterbury subdivision and winds back to end in the North end of the Lake Park West Campus parking lot. There is one water station at the 1.62 mile mark. The entire race is on asphalt closed streets of Roselle. The course is clearly marked with signs and volunteers directing the way. Each mile marker is marked.

Post Race

After the race enjoy a variety of fruit, snacks, water and heating stations if the weather is cold.

medals for top 1st and 2nd place finishers in the following age brackets for both Male and Female are going to be handed out at the end of the race.

Age groups : 1-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 +

Runners will be able to get their time and place at the end of the race at the results booth from the timer. There will be a medals table next to it staffed to verify and hand out medals. There is no awards ceremony. Please make sure that your age is correct prior to the race. All results are final.

Strollers or wagons are allowed but will need to line up behind the runners at the starting line.

Packet pickup is available on Tuesday and Weds from 6 PM to 8 PM  prior to the race, you can also sign up on those dated. Pickup is at Village Hall in the first floor

You don’t need your receipt for pickup. Packet pickup is your bib for the race and the race shirt.

You can also pickup on race day but to avoid the crowd it is highly recommended you pickup early or allow enough time on race day.

Parking is available at the Park District Clauss center, Lake Park west campus lot and the remote Lake park west lot.

Lake Park’s foyer will be open and available if the weather is cold. Announcement will be made at 7:45 that race is about to begin.

The race will go unless the Police decide the weather is bad. Rain and snow will not cancel the race. If lighting is present, the race will be delayed and everyone will be asked to wait inside of Lake Park.

The race is chipped time. The chip is on the back of the bib. The bib can not be covered when you pass over the start or the finish line. Please wear the bib on the outside of your clothing for the race. Do not bend the chip, this can cause it to not register. For 2016, the race will start with air horn, there is no timing strip on the starting line so everyone’s start time is the same. This changed this year is order to eliminate the bottle neck from the past two years and allows everyone to use the whole street to start. If you are a competitive runner, make sure you line up in the front. The timing company is responsible for accuracy of the results.

The route will be closed for the duration of the race, however since there are homes along the route, there is the possibility of cars coming out of these homes, all runners need to be aware of their surrounding.

Music, food and drink will be at the finish line. Results will be posted as soon as they are available. Heaters will be available if the conditions are cold. The Lions club will be serving Hot Chocolate!

Gear check is available at registration and at the start line. You can drop off items such as keys, sweatshirts or jackets for the race staff to hold onto as you run. Please pickup items after the race. The items will be bagged and your bib number labeled on it. They will be available at the finish line.

Results and pictures will be posted as soon as they are available.

Volunteers are needed for early packet pickup, setting up on race day, registration and cleaning up. If available to help out, please email name and availability using email address on bottom of this page.
